The Tiger Fairy

We're starting to look at art for Baum's "Animal Fairy Tales." You ever read these? If you haven't, hold off. Wait'll you see what Z is doing with them.
Who knew there was a Tiger Fairy, and a Porcupine Fairy...and a Gopher Fairy. Not every story has a fairy in it, but some do, and we're trying to figure out what the heck they look like.
I told Z I thought they should all be like made of light. Like an aura around each animal, or maybe an aura over a meadow which a whole herd shares.
Z said he had other ideas. So I said show 'em to me.
He's pretty secretive (like, how do you pronounce his first name Zhestok? I'm saying Jest-awk, and he's not correcting me. But it's probably more like zhhh-est-aucktch or something), so I had to pry some preliminary sketches from him. He says he doesn't do preliminary. Doesn't work with a pencil, I guess. Anyhoo, here's what he eventually sent, after endless poking:
I'm loving all these. But I hope he goes with the last one. It is to drool.
