Tiktok and the Nome King

Prepare for a comical clash of personalities when Tiktok, the remarkable Clockwork Man, pays a  visit to the notoriously grumpy Nome King. Seeking new springs to power his thought machinery, Tiktok's visit takes a dramatic turn when the Nome King, in a fit of his characteristic anger, smashes the mechanical man to pieces. In a display of ingenuity, Kaliko, the Nome King's steward, cleverly reassembles Tiktok. The Nome King's reaction upon seeing the reassembled Tiktok is one of utter terror, as he believes he is seeing a ghost. This hilarious misunderstanding leads to an unexpected apology from the usually ill-tempered Nome King, who even sends Tiktok back to Oz with a gift of jewels for Princess Ozma, resolving (at least for the moment) to better control his temper. Readers will delight in the quirky characters and humorous situations in this story, brought to life with fresh illustrations in the style of John R. Neill. The story uses humor to address themes of anger management and the surprising outcomes of one's actions, with Kaliko's cleverness playing a pivotal role in the unfolding events.
